If you register for an account on this website it is your responsibility to ensure the confidentially of your username and password so that no unauthorised persons have access to them. If your password becomes available to anyone else you should let us know immediately in order for us to take the necessary steps to protect your account. Statement

1 We are The Chickenshop, a division of Duncan Reid Limited. In these terms we refer to ourselves as (The) Chickenshop.

2 Any email or any acknowledgement by us of a receipt of an order placed by you does not mean that we have accepted your order. Acceptance of your order and completion of the contract between you and Chickenshop will take place on despatch to you of the products ordered unless we have told you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it.

3. You have the right to cancel an order but we may not be able to prevent it being shipped to you. If you receive your order after you have cancelled, this means we were unable to prevent it being shipped and you must therefore return the goods in accordance with our Returns Policy below.

Because of the nature of our operation and the volume of emails we receive, we recommend that instructions for cancellation are made by phone on 01592 646646 as early in the day as possible. If you are unable to phone us we may not be able to read your email before your order has been processed. Please note we usually process orders from 9.30am during normal working days and your communication may reach us after we have processed your order.

4 Returns Policy

You may return any purchase made over the web to us subject to the following:
  • Items must be returned unused, with all original packing material within 30 days of delivery. Due to our automated system, we cannot accept returned items later than this.
  • Items must be unused and in a saleable condition
  • Items such as wigs, makeup, teeth or underwear must be returned unopened and unused with all seals in place where seals are provided

Before returning anything you must contact us and we will give you a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA). This number must be included with the returned items otherwise we will be unable to process them.

Include a copy of your email or delivery invoice with the goods and return in appropriate packaging.


We do not refund shipping costs for returning postages. It is your responsibility to return items to us and we recommend recorded delivery or Royal Mail special delivery. Chickenshop cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to goods whilst they are being returned.

Refunds will be made to the card that was used in the original purchase or a cheque made payable to the cardholder if the card is no longer valid. In the case of cheque payment, a cheque will be issued payable to the original customer. You must follow our instructions for returning goods (see below).

You can return items ordered from our website to our Chickenshop Store but refunds will still be processed via the original payment method.

None of the above affects your statutory rights.

If your item requires a signature and no-one is in, a card will be left with details on how to proceed. This may be to arrange a redelivery, it's left with a neighbour or to arrange collection at the local depot. If you are expecting a delivery and it hasn't arrived, please lookout for the card. This may have got mixed in with other mail. If the courier has failed to connect you with your parcel through the above process, the item may be returned to us with an extra cost invlolved. If we do receive such cost, we reserve the righ to pass on this cost to you.

Express charges are non-refundable.

Due to the fact that we use signed for services, we are unable to deliver parcels to PO boxes.

5 We may despatch your order in a number of installments and each dispatch is a separate contract and is not connected to any other dispatch.

6 We will validate your credit/debit card before accepting your order. We will not accept your order if your card is declined at any stage during the processing of your order. We will try to contact you if your card is declined after you have placed your order but we cannot guarantee this.

7 We take reasonable care to protect the confidentiality of your payment card details and have industry standard security measures in place to ensure this, but Chickesnhop is not liable if these details are intercepted by and used by third parties through no fault of our own.

8 You can pay for your order by cheque. Please make your cheque payable to 'Chickenshop.co.uk' and send it with your order to: The Chickenshop, Unit 20, Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy KY1 1NR. If you pay by cheque it may take up to ten days to process and dispatch your order subject to stock availability.

9 The prices quoted on the website are subject to change from time to time. The current price shown on the website at the time of order is the price you will be charged. Any variation to the price shown must be confirmed in writing by Chickenshop before your order is accepted by us. The prices shown against each item includes VAT where applicable but does not include postage and packing charges. These may be added separately depending on the individual order.

10 We will try to make sure that the prices and all other information on the website are accurate but we are not liable for anything that happens due to errors that may appear to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer or other statutory rights that may not be excluded or in any way to exclude or limit our liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

11 All the products on the website are subject to availability. Due to the nature of the business, we do not guarantee that all items shown on the website are in stock and are available and ready for dispatch. Display of an item on the website is not a guarantee that the item is in stock.

12 If you have selected an item that is not in stock we will try to contact you as quickly as we can. We will try to do this within 24 hours (except on weekends and bank/public holidays when we normally do not work). Please note that at busy times of the year including prior to Halloween and Christmas we cannot guarantee to contact you within this time.

13 Accepted orders are normally processed & despatched within 24 hours of the order being placed on our website except on weekends and bank/public holidays when we normally do not work. 14 The time for delivery of your order varies according to your chosen method of shipment. Chickenshop has no control over the goods once they are shipped and cannot guarantee that your order will arrive within the time specified by your chosen method of shipment. Please note that at busy times of the year, including prior to and during the Halloween & Christmas periods, deliveries can take longer than stated.

15 We will not refund any charges relating to packing and shipping if you fail to take delivery of the goods at the address given by you on your order. And we may at our discretion charge an administration fee for items returned in this instance.

16 This Contract is deemed to have been made in Scotland and is governed by Scottish Law and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts as regards any claim, dispute or matter arising out of or relating to this Contract.

17 If your chosen costume is not available for whatever reason and it is clear that the accessories relate to it, we will not dispatch the accessory items you may have included in your order.
