| About the chickenshop |
Chickenshop.co.uk started life in 1996, when the Internet revolution was in its infancy. It originally supported our first shop called “The Joke Factory”, but in 1999 it took a life of its own and branched out into the big world of on line retailing.
We are based on the High Street in Kirkcaldy, Fife where we recently opened our brand new, modern shop. Our warehouse is situated very close to the shop. We employ 14 people which increases to 20 over the Halloween season.

THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
Dennis Alexander founded the company in 1996 as a natural progression of his involvement in the entertainment industry. As the main part of a well known Scottish entertainment duo, he had travelled all over the world entertaining audiences of children and adults with his unique mixture of songs, comedy and ceilidh music. He still does, although mainly solo now, but his recent travels have taken him all over Scotland, New Zealand, Poland and Germany. You can check his music out at www.myspace.com/dennisalexander
He also runs his own restaurant called “The Pancake Place” just off the High Street in Kirkcaldy

THE SALES DIRECTOR
Sophie McInnes joined Dennis in 1978 and added a balloon and party decoration business onto the flourishing fancy dress business. It quickly became the leading business of its type in the area.
In 1999, the business moved into its own premises on the High Street in Kirkcaldy and the website got serious. Sophie not only ran the shop but also helped develop the product range for the new web project.
Her latest revamp of the company’s new shop has been acknowledged as ground breaking and forward thinking for the fancy dress industry. The marketing of fancy dress as a fashion item has been warmly welcomed by the local buying public and the exciting revolution will hit the website soon

WEB DIRECTOR
Roy Carnell joined the company in 1999 and immediately set about creating a big exciting website to take advantage of the emerging internet culture. In his past life Roy created some of the best known game titles for the Sinclair Spectrum, before going to work in the film business creating special effects for major films. However, the Chickenshop project was very difficult to turn down, given his interest in films and TV and he has overseen the technical side of the business since then.
